About Me
Hello and welcome to the Wealth Impact Journal!!! Since 2015, I (I’m Brandon, by the way) have been studying and immersing myself in the world of finance. Money has always been a topic of interest for me since an early age. There weren’t too many courses offered in the grade schools I attended, so self-education was the only way to learn (YouTube University grad here). I enjoyed the topic of money so much, that I decided I would pursue a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance. Through my college experience, I quickly learned that the topics discussed in my courses would give me lifelong tools to build wealth!
After graduating from college I got my first job at a bank. My role was a Commercial Credit Analyst. Through this role, I learned A LOT! My day-to-day duty was to evaluate a business’s financial health and figure out the amount of money the bank could comfortably lend. I discovered how so many different businesses operated. The scope of the businesses included restaurants, law firms, clinics, hospitals, real estate developers, and so much more! I also learned how to evaluate personal finances in this role since individuals would guarantee business loans from time to time. This opportunity certainly fueled me to keep learning more.
After a year in the corporate world, I was itching to pursue more formal education. Thus, I began pursuing the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) program. The program consists of three exceedingly difficult exams. The exams covered all things finance such as Economics, Equities, Fixed Income, Derivatives, Accounting, Portfolio Management and so much more! Through this experience, I learned plenty after passing the levels I & II exams of the program. I sat for the third and final level of the program in 2021 and unfortunately didn’t pass it. Long story short, the pandemic caused me to reevaluate life. I realized the time I spent studying (300 hrs. over six months per exam) was taking a toll on my mental health. I then decided to put that journey to an end.
Aside from my professional journey, I was always a frugal individual, a huge saver, and big on investing. This allowed me to purchase a home at the age of 24 and accumulate a sizeable investment portfolio. I created the Wealth Impact Journal as an educational tool for wealth builders like yourself! I am a firm believer in self-education and the opinion that education shouldn’t cost an arm and leg to receive. Building wealth isn’t hard, and you don’t need much money to start. You also don’t need to learn the Wall Street vocabulary to be successful. This blog intends to inform and educate on financial topics that impact your wealth and tools to help you achieve financial success!! Let’s get to the money!!!
